Cheryl L Yakavonis, LPC –Therapy and Counseling Services in Tannersville, PA is focused on working with adolescents (ages 16 and up), adults, couples and families in developing personal goals that will lead to an overall state of wellness in daily living.


Individual Counseling

As a team, we will focus on increasing your personal awareness, self -acceptance and acceptance of others. I will also assist you on making behavioral changes to attain personal goals. Together, we will identify barriers that may be keeping you from reaching these goals and develop strategies to overcome these barriers.


Couples Counseling and Family Counseling

Marital and couples counseling can help if you are experiencing problems in a relationship. Family therapy can help you work out problems with children, adult children or aging parents.

In response to recommended CDC guidelines, video sessions and direct telephonic sessions are now offered to all active and former clients. My office is also taking the following precautions to protect all clients attending in-office sessions and to help slow the spread of the coronavirus:

• Flat surfaces and doorknobs will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the start and end of each day.

• Common areas are thoroughly disinfected at the start and end of each day.

• Credit card / Apple Pay payment tools, pens and other areas that are commonly touched are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use.

• Office seating in the waiting room and in therapy office has been arranged for appropriate physical distancing.

• I will wear a mask.

• I will maintain safe distancing with all clients, and their family members, who attend sessions.

• Restroom soap dispensers are maintained by myself, as well as my landlord, and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands.

• Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is available in the waiting room and therapy office.

• I will schedule appointments at specific intervals to minimize the number of people in the waiting room.

• I ask all patients to wait in their cars or outside – if feasible - until no earlier than 5 minutes before their appointment times.

• Physical contact is not permitted.

• Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis.
