The Journey to Wellness Begins Now

Cheryl L Yakavonis, LPC

Therapy and Counseling Services

I applaud the courage of taking the step to initiate the process of entering a therapeutic relationship! It can be an overwhelming and intimidating decision, to choose the "right" therapist. Congratulations on taking this first step to wellness!

I am a firm believer that all individuals are capable of making positive changes in their lives. The focus of my practice is assisting clients in coping with problems in daily living and dealing with inner conflicts which may be hindering personal satisfaction and functioning.

In response to recommended CDC guidelines, video sessions and direct telephonic sessions are now offered to all active and former clients.  My office is also taking the following precautions to protect all clients attending in-office sessions and to help slow the spread of the coronavirus:

• Flat surfaces and doorknobs will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the start and end of each day.

• Common areas are thoroughly disinfected at the start and end of each day.

• Credit card / Apple Pay payment tools, pens and other areas that are commonly touched are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use.

• Office seating in the waiting room and in therapy office has been arranged for appropriate physical distancing.

• I will wear a mask.

• I will maintain safe distancing with all clients, and their family members, who attend sessions.

• Restroom soap dispensers are maintained by myself, as well as my landlord, and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands.

• Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is available in the waiting room and therapy office.

• I will schedule appointments at specific intervals to minimize the number of people in the waiting room.

• I ask all patients to wait in their cars or outside – if feasible - until no earlier than 5 minutes before their appointment times.

• Physical contact is not permitted.

• Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis.
